Lab 9: C.elegans RNAi Results

Part A: Collecting data

Observe the bli-1 and dpy-11 RNAi treated plates.
• Complete the following table for each plate.
• Make a quantitative assessment of the RNAi effect on phenotype on each plate.
• On each plate count the number of adult worms that have any unusual phenotype and those that appear normal (wild-type).
• As you count each worm, remove it from the plate with a toothpick.
• Fill this data in the table below.
• Calculate the percentage of adult worms that were affected on each RNAi plate on each day. (Note to calculate the percent that are abnormal looking adults divide the total number of abnormal looking adults by the total number of adults x 100)
